In Memoriam

It is with great sadness that we have been informed of the death of referee Derek Heighway.

Derek officiated on our League and previously the Preston and District League. He was a stalwart of football in Chorley supporting the Chorley and District Alliance League, before it folded and many of the teams then joined our League and Derek came with them.

He was also a great supporter of Chorley FC and a member of the Chorley Referees Society where he had a major role in the development of new referees.

In honor of Derek's memory, let us all strive to emulate his passion and commitment to football, ensuring that his legacy lives on in every match played and refereed. Derek Heighway's impact on the sport and the people he touched will forever be celebrated and cherished.
