Latest league update from League Secretary

Details are set out below of a number of key dates and matters that need to be considered as we move into the final third of the season.

VETERANS COUNTY CUP FINAL

The inaugural Veterans Lancashire County Cup Final will be held on Tuesday 19 March kick off 7.30pm at the LFA County Ground Leyland. The final sees two teams from our Veterans League, Bamber Bridge Vets and Colne Vets. Having watched the semi finals this promises to be an exciting match up with two very good teams.

Please support the two teams and the League in this final. A big thank you to Tom Jaques who runs our Veterans League and who has helped the LFA in the running of the Veterans County Cup in its first season.

SEMI - FINALS OF LEAGUE CUP COMPETITIONS

The semi final draw for both the Guildhall Cup and Lancastrian Brigade Cup can now be found on the League website at midlancsfl.com.

The dates and venues are being finalised and we are aiming to play the fixtures on Saturday 6/13 April at neutral venues. The details will be released shortly. The League will meet the costs of the semi finals.

Please note that players competing in the semi finals and finals must have played a minimum of 4 games for the club in the case of the Guildhall Cup and a minimum of 4 games for the team in the case of the Lancastrian Brigade Cup (Rule 24J)

FINALS DATES OF LEAGUE CUP COMPETITIONS

The dates for the finals have also been confirmed.

The Guildhall Cup Final will be played on Thursday 2 May, kick off 7.30pm at the Lancashire FA County Ground in Leyland.

The Lancastrian Brigade Final will be played on Thursday 25 April, kick off 7.30pm at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium, Bamber Bridge.

MID WEEK LEAGUE MATCHES

From the beginning of April when the clocks go back an hour the League will be arranging mid week matches. Unfortunately the extended period of bad weather means that there are likely to be a number of mid week games in order for us to complete the season in a timely manner. Please keep an eye on the Full Time System for the mid week fixtures.

PLAYER REGISTRATIONS AND TRANSFERS

This is a reminder to all clubs about player registrations and transfers. A player may not be registered or transferred between clubs after the 31 March except by special permission of the League Management Committee (Rule 18I)

REQUEST FOR A LIFE

No application may be made in April or May for a life unless it has already been approved (Rule 25A).

CUPS AND LEAGUE TROPHIES

Arrangements will be made in the next few days to collect the Cups and League Trophies from the 2022/23 season in readiness for the end of this season.

LEAGUE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

The LMC is pleased to advise that Tom Pritchard has now joined the Management Committee. Tom was previously the manager at AFC Bickerstaffe and after taking a short break from football is now back in the fold.

Peter Jones the Fixtures Secretary has now retired from CW Berry's. Please do not use his Berry's email address. The options are to email fixtures.admin@midlancsfl.com or p_jones_jocb@msn.com.

If anybody has any questions about any of the above please get in touch with myself or a member of the League Management Committee. Contact details can be found on the League website at www.midlancsfl.com.
