League Update Jan 2020

Please see below for an update on a number of matters :

1. PREMIER DIVISION

Unfortunately I have to advise that two teams in our Premier Division are unable to continue this season due to player shortages. These are Anchorsholme and Hoole Utd. As neither team has completed 75% of fixtures their results to date will be expunged from the records and the Division adjusted accordingly. Obviously this is very disappointing at this stage of the season but we understand the difficult position the teams have found themselves in. In both cases the Reserve teams of the two clubs will continue in Division 2 (Anchorsholme Reserves) and Division 3 (Hoole Utd Reserves).

2. GUILDHALL CUP AND LANCASTRIAN BRIGADE CUP

The draws for the Quarter Finals of the Guildhall Cup (to be played on the 22 February) and the 2nd Round of the Lancastrian Brigade Cup (to be played on the 15 February) have been made and details will be available on the website shortly.

Dates for your diary :

The final of the Guildhall Cup will be held on Friday 1 May at the Lancashire FA Headquarters in Leyland.

The final of the Lancastrian Brigade Cup will be held on Wednesday 15 April at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium, Bamber Bridge FC.

3. LANCASHIRE AMATEUR CUP

Congratulations to Southport & Ainsdale Amateurs (Premier Division) and Sir Tom Finney FC (Division 2) who have both reached the Semi Final of the Lancashire Amateur Cup. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your point of view, they have been drawn against each other in the semi final which does mean that the League is guaranteed one team in the final. The Semi Final will be played on Wednesday the 18 March at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium, Bamber Bridge FC. Make a note in your diary to support our teams in what should be an excellent game.

4. LEAGUE MEETING OF CLUBS

The next League Meeting of Clubs will be held on Thursday 27 February at Bamber Bridge Catholic Club commencing at 7.30pm. Further details will be sent out nearer the time.
