Wyre Villa have restarted their reserve team and are actively looking to recruit a new manager.

The new team will join the Mid Lancs league Division Two and will be up against 12 other clubs.

Club chairman Kevin Roskell was keen to stress the characteristics the new manager will bring to the club.

"The development of young players is key to the role. The structure of our player pathway from the Wyre Juniors under 18 side is designed to encourage young talent to reach their full potential and play adult football in our first team.

"Interaction with Wyre Juniors will be crucial. The main aim is to progress lads from the Mid Lancs to the West Lancashire league to provide depth for our first team manager John Beavers.

"The role is key to our development as a club. Having local lads involved in both teams will make us a strong all round club. We want to draft players from within Wyre Juniors and have a home grown talent pathway.

"Our deadline to appoint the right candidate is tight with the season around 6 weeks away.
